Engaged with finding out new ways of approaching the principles of Universal Design, our atelier is developing projects in 3 specific fronts:
MAPPING
Analise comercial, institutional and residencial spaces, through Barcelona ́s diverse neighbour- hoods, in order to outline to detail all accessibility, signage, services and other care conditions, that guarantee common and universal use of interior built environments, and their relation to both su- rrounding and urban spaces.
By topics, the research aims to understand, by users and local developers, the implications of conceiving, adapting and managing functions and activities of each space, to accomplish a univer- sal assistance to communities demands.
SHARING
Spread and share experiences and social concerns, present existing projects and solutions in ar- chitecture and design fields, suggest ideas aiming to enable creatives and developers to discover new values and universal design principles, looking for the future of our urban centres and our pre- sent demands of products, spaces and services.
Through lectures, talks and workshops in academic and civic centres, schools, clinics, propose an multidisciplinar exchange of experiences and expertises so to encourage different ways to com- prehend problems, rase awareness, question, standards, and build up the desire to incorporate universal thinking natural and spontaneously.
ACTING
Develop artistic works, ludic and sensorial to sensitise public, raising consciousness of our atelier ́s universe. Art as a catalyser of sensible ideas, when sensorially is able to touch, penetrate and communicate intentions, values and points of view.
The goal is to understand the fascinating human ability to perceive spaces, to interact in and with the built environment, as a multi sensorial experience.
For all of these initiatives, create collaborate is fundamental, aware of the complexity of human behaviour, and its even more sophisticated and speedy technologies.
We should create common paths, combined and inclusive efforts to holistically respond to the complex human relations with constantly changing environments.
