An old dream becomes reality when a family finally finds a right place in a right time. To be used as a vacation ́s residency, it should respect specific conditions that were at first considered, even before closing the acquisition.
Lots of natural lights, traditional elements and wide spaces could finally be found in Eixample District, where 270 square meters would in 6 months of work, set up the family ́s new home. Designed to restore the bourgeois interiors, highlight the catalan “bovedillas” and the brick ́s original façade, but at the same time adding new values by introducing contemporary elements, to emphasise the contrasts, letting each intervention tell the apartment ́s history by itself. All of that, considering latter scenarios, different users, new possibilities and future special needs, as fundamental points to ensure a long term warranty by investing such expectations, time and financial efforts.
Bring the same Eixample sidewalks fluidity with its chamfered corners and big patios to the interiors, considering a variety of users for short and long term scenarios. Most of the rooms share the same flooring texture, with no different levels, in order to give it a wider impression of continuity and amplitude.
White, gray and brown explored in different plans, finishings and nuances, repeatedly in every room, giving it a coherence and unity. A more suitable response to a more neutral aesthetic and sustainable attitude.
Through its front and back façades, natural lights guarantee special conditions on both morning and afternoon shades, when the white walls optimise their effect. Spots and decorative lamps play a definite roll in featuring furniture and creating special scenarios.
